Ritterguts is the world's oldest existing Gose brand and the primary guardian of the authentic Goslar (Leipzig) Gose. It is a light, refreshing wheat beer with a subtle tartness, established in the region for nearly a millennium - long before the emergence of Berliner Weisse or Belgian Gueuze. Unlike neighboring Bavaria, Saxon brewers were not constrained by the Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), which allowed them to preserve Gose’s unique recipe featuring a blend of salt, coriander, and aromatic herbs. The beer is unpasteurized and unfiltered - thanks to natural lactic acid fermentation, it remains stable and alive without heat treatment, offering a fine effervescence and a complex, tart-spicy profile. Today, Ritterguts Gose is recognized as a symbol of global brewing heritage and is included in the Slow Food® Ark of Taste. Awards: World Beer Awards - World's Best Gose 2013 & 2022, Europe's Best Gose 2014.
